It’s so important for people to share their stories of recovery, whether it’s with the Lightning Process or other approaches.  I hope that this client’s experience inspires you today…

“I had led an extremely active and physically demanding life. I was a keen walker and had just started to train my new puppy. My initial outbreak of CRPS followed a minor injury to my foot and led to a very traumatic period in my life.   Despite a suspected diagnosis of CRPS from a very well-respected chiropractor,  my doctors refused to consider this as a possibility and none of my family or friends believed I had such severe pain.  After a year of being unable to walk I did begin to make a recovery, although I continued to have many accidents and therefore further outbreaks.

Only after breaking my arm many years later did I finally get a potential CRPS diagnosis.  I then had the great fortune of finding a specialist CRPS physiotherapist who was able to make a clear diagnosis and a treatment plan, unlike any physiotherapy I had had before.  This was based on the work of eminent scientists, such as Professor Lorimer Mosely, leading the modern understanding of neuroscience.  This treatment was hugely successful on my arm, however, I continued to have regular accidents and CRPS flair ups with my leg.

Following my last incident when I badly damaged my foot I found myself in a very dark place again and had lost all confidence that I could make a real recovery “this time” or that I could have any control over my condition.

At this point, a friend suggested the Lightning Process.  I soon realised (working with Jude Hogarth) that the Lightning Process was using the modern neuroscience that had so influenced my physio treatment and putting this into a learning program which would allow ME to influence and take control of my own recovery.  The Lightning Process has completely complimented and enhanced the work of my physiotherapist.

There are still some physical effects of the years I spent with CRPS and these do still cause me to stumble occasionally and the condition to flair. However, I strongly believe that The Lightning Process has allowed me to quickly bring my “dȗing” of CRPS symptoms under control and has given me great confidence to believe that I have influence over CRPS and that I am not a “victim” of this horrible condition.

I do hope this information is useful and may help someone else believe that recovery from CRPS is possible.”
