What are you most grateful for this year?
As we are on the eve of Christmas, I thought I would ask you ‘what are you most grateful for this year?’
I’m lucky to have lots of things to choose from (and it goes without saying Gary and Bella feature at the top of the list) but I would say my top three from this year are:
Family and friends – we moved 200 miles away from everyone to start our new adventure in the summer leaving them was one of the most difficult choices we have ever made. We have been lucky to have so many visitors over the last few months and have spent quality time with people rather than the odd evening here and there. This has made our transition to rural life much easier and we haven’t felt at all home sick.
Move to Wales – this was a massive change for us and one that we had been planning for a couple of years. Luckily things all came together very quickly and we sold our house, found our new home and moved within 4 months. Since coming to our village, there is a lovely sense of community here and we have been made very welcome and settled in quickly – it felt like home from the beginning.
Bionic hip – this has got to be on this list! The difference this has made to what I can do is life changing. It’s been hard work at times and there have been challenges but it’s incredible to be able to bend and move so easily. I have nearly lost my limp now – my consultant told me that I would be left with a limp because my hip had been bad for so long. I decided I didn’t like that idea and that my brain and body could learn how to walk straight once again!
I would love to hear what you are grateful for this year – leave a comment below.
Wishing you a fantastic Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year.
